

Copper Clad Laminate Peeling Test

Abstract: This article introduces the use of the Kunpeng BOYI 2025 electronic universal material testing machine, combined with a 500N pneumatic double push-pull tensile fixture and a 90° peel fixture. According to Section 2.4.8 of the IPC-TM-650 Test Methods Manual - Peel Strength of Metal Foil Laminates, a 90° peel test of copper-clad laminate was conducted as an example. The peel strength characterizes the adhesion strength between the copper layer and the substrate. The test results show that the Kunpeng BOYI 2025 electronic universal material testing machine can fully accommodate the 90° peel test of copper-clad laminate.

It evaluates the mechanical properties of copper foil such as tensile strength and elongation at break.
